Convoy Tee by Olivers
I've been wearing the Convoy Tee from Olivers for a few months now. Made with Merino Wool it sheds water and stinky smells and looks good no matter where it's worn.
I broke in the shirt while living in Colorado and then left the country for a 12 month trip with my family. We're all living out of carry-on-sized backpacks during this time so it's important that the things I pack work in nearly every situation I put them in.
We started with one month in Romania where it was very hot and humid. My one gripe with the shirt is that after being carefully folded and packed for the journey it took a couple of days for all of the creases to work their way out of the shirt. Still, it performed well in the mountainous cities of Sibiu and Brașov along with numerous bus and train trips. The Convoy Tee is trendy enough to fit in on a date with Christine at the trendiest places in Bucharest.
We've been in the French Alps for a couple of weeks now and the shirt is performing as well as ever. It's cooler and on those rainy days the shirt does a nice job of shedding light precipitation. Granted, it won't keep you dry in a downpour but those first drops bead up and roll off and the shirt dries nicely.
At $78 the Convoy Tee isn't cheap, however, since we're traveling with limited luggage space we decided to put a lot of thought into the things we bring with us. That has also meant spending more money on clothing that does multiple jobs well. The Convoy Tee has been a great fit.
At 6' tall and 154 pounds I think the medium trim fit Convoy is best though it looks to have been replaced with a relaxed fit V2 which more people may enjoy.

Best Trail Running and Backcountry Skiing Top: OR Deviator Hoody [Review]
Переглядів 2 тис.6 років тому
I started trail running in the Outdoor Research Deviator Hoody in the Fall of last year and I'm still wearing it as I've switched to backcountry skis. The hoody is hybrid mapped and the trim fit allows me to layer or wear it on the outside over a baselayer. First off, the Deviator is breathable and that's why I'm wearing it in all but hot temps. While trail running in cool weather it lets out h...
Sopris

Corbeaux is a small clothing company based in Aspen, CO and just the kind of company I like to highlight, as long as their gear stands up to the abuse I put it through and the requirements I'm looking for. The Sopris Long Sleeve is one such piece of gear. A few months ago Corbeaux sent me the Sopris along with a few other pieces and I immediately put them to work. As the weather began to cool i...
Tenergy T20 Bluetooth Wireless Headphones Review

Tenergy sent me this pair of bluetooth headphones in exchange for a review and I'm glad to have put them through the paces while trail running. I constantly wore these on my training runs and then ran the last half of a 50 mile trail race in Moab, UT with these in my ear and around my neck. I like that they fit pretty well and have different size ear pieces. I do wish that the outside clip that...

Backcountry and Travel Jacket: Outdoor Research Ascendant Hoody [Review]
Переглядів 5 тис.6 років тому
I began wearing the Outdoor Research Ascendant Hoody during the spring ski mountaineering season, wore it through the longest summer days in Scandinavia and continue to slip into it for those cool Colorado summer evenings. Bottom line: this jacket performs. Right off I noticed this jacket is warm for its weight. On a May ski mission up 14,110' Pikes Peak it was hot, cold, foggy and a little rai...
Backpack for Lightweight Backcountry Skiing: Ultimate Direction SkiMo 28 [Review]
Переглядів 4,3 тис.7 років тому
I've long been a fan of lightweight and fast. While many people seem to plan for every contingency and end up with a heavy backpack to cover only a handful of miles every day, I usually go as light as possible to allow myself to cover a lot of ground. I'm also usually carrying camera equipment and possible a beer or two so if I can cut weight anywhere, I'm always thankful. Ultimate Direction ha...

Spring is here and with it comes a new set of adventures. From snow to rain and then sunshine, we can see it all in a single day in the Colorado Mountains. That testing turned out to be more fun than I had imagined and as a result, I have at least double the days ...

Lightweight, Dry Jacket In Grand Canyon: Outdoor Research Realm Jacket [Review]
Переглядів 2,5 тис.7 років тому
When I joined my friends on a raft through the Grand Canyon the forecast called for temps above 100° F. It was strongly suggested I bring full rain gear, to which I replied, "You're nuts!" Seems that Arizona has a monsoon season full of cold rain, which I thought strange for the desert, but I brought a lightweight, waterproof jacket just in case, and I'm sure glad I did. Descending 5,000' over ...
Lightweight Ski Carry For Hike To Terrain And Kids

An Epic Wipe To Clean Your Entire Body While Camping

Staying clean while camping is one of toughest things to do. A couple of days is alright, but soon you become tired of the stink and dirt in places you didn't know dirt could find its way into. Recently I was wandering through Walmart before a desert road trip looking for the best ...

Great video man! I know I could have used this for my hockey skates when I was playing in college! Prob would have ended up putting my gloves on there too since its purpose built for all that! I use mine by Everlasting Comfort for quite a while now. It comes with shoe and helmet attachments, as not all shoes are shaped or sized the same! Before I kept my logging boots outside one day before a tree job and they took HOURS to heat up ha this would have been great too to heat those suckers up so my toes wouldnt freeze!

We don't put glasses on backwards.. if you are going to demonstrate the effects of ChromaPop Polarized lenses, put them on the camera (infront of the camera lens) as if the camera was wearing the glasses.. Otherwise you are just a guy talking about a pair of glasses.. Until you do this, it is useless information.. Give us first hand experience of what the camera sees without then with the glasses from the back side.. Lenses only work if you are looking thru the correct direction.. this didn't help me at all.. I don't need fashion advice.. i need glasses that perform.. You could have showed that but you chose to show us how great you look in a pair of Smith glasses..

Putting a lens up to a camera is useless as well, as your brain won’t compensate for color wash like it does when you wear tinted sunglasses. Cheers

I have the same Tahoe, in Gold. In 2012 it was in the same condition as this one. Ten years later it is starting to fall apart in the inside a little. It’s used now to haul tools instead of kids. It’s a keeper for us. Not a run around car anymore. Gas mileage is horrible. It does have power for sure.
